2 Foreigners @ school

Last week we had a surprise because two foreigners came from Sri Lanka. Their names are Gayana and Hira. She is an only child while he has got a sister. Both have got dogs. When they introduced themselves by showing a PowerPoint presentation, we were in our classroom together with our classmates and English teacher and it was a pleasure to know them. While listening to them we had to fill in an exercise to check our understanding. Then, on Wednesday, with a different PowerPoint presentation, they showed their country, the places where they live, the different provinces with their features, and they explained us the three ethnic groups living in Sri Lanka and their religions. Sinhalese practice Buddhism; Muslims follow Islam; and, Tamils worship Hinduism. It was very nice to approach new ethnicities and exchange information between our two different cultures.

We are Teresa & Alessia and we were in the class when the teacher came up with two new people: Hira & Gayana. We felt happy!

Meeting Gayana and Hira was an honor because they showed us their traditions and showed their nation. We met them when we were at school in our classroom and while they were talking with us, it seemed to be there. (Francesca Grimaldi, Giovanni Mandarino)

It was a pleasurable surprise because we learnt English better with them. We were in classroom with our friends when we had this surprise. They talked about their country: Sri Lanka!
Sri Lanka has nine provinces and there are three religions: Buddhism, Hinduism, Islamism.
We felt very well because this is an opportunity that maybe other schools don’t give.

During our English lessons in October and November we met two foreign guys. We were very happy! Our two new friends come from Sri Lanka. (Luigi Adimari, Giuseppe Petta)

Last month we had a surprise…two foreigners came from Sri Lanka: Hiranta and Gayana. We were at school during the English class. I was with my classmates and my teacher. On the first day they introduced themselves with a PowerPoint presentation and subsequently they showed their country, Sri Lanka, with its capital and its provinces. Hiranta has got one sister and they both have two dogs. It was great to know them and their cultures! (Micaela Bellizzi)
